Nina is the most knowledgeable professional I have worked with since I had my baby. Nurses, doctors, other lactation consultants were not able to assist me on my breastfeeding journey and I felt very much on my own (just getting by with google). Nina's holistic approach, unprecedented knowledge on lactation and compassion have been invaluable. Nina has made it so I can breastfeed exclusively (my ultimate goal), when I thought it wasn’t possible. Nina also identified issues that were causing me quite a bit of pain and inconvenience (oversupply and vasospasm), and not to mention we never would have known about our daughters ties without her expertise. Nina has made this process so much better while providing various options and methods along the way. Nina has been amazing! Thank you Nina!
Nina was an absolute pleasure to work with. I’ve been extremely passionate about breastfeeding despite the hardships and Nina has been so supportive unlike other lactation consultants in the past. She visited our home and helped so much with concerns about latching as well as engorgement and pain. She was so sweet and patient with our little one and has been offering so much help and support via text even after our visit. I am so grateful and glad we chose to work with her and 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone great in the NYC area.
I surpassed my breastfeeding goals by a lot, in no small thanks to Nina. Nina's lactation advice is invaluable and truly life changing. Thank you, Nina, for all the help you've given me. I have now fully weaned. I will definitely reach back out for the next baby and recommend you to my friends!
Working with Nina provided so much relief. Nina brings such warmth, compassion, and confidence to the whole experience. As new parents (of a then a 5-day old) we thought we were doing everything right and then our baby stopped eating much, and diaper changes became few and far between. If you’ve been a new parent, you may understand that we thought we were failing and our baby was going to die (he wasn’t but it felt that way). Because he had lost so much weight, our pediatrician recommended seeking out a lactation consultant. From the first interaction with Nina to the last, we had an amazing experience. We reached out to Nina on a Friday afternoon, she was not only willing to meet with us in person the next day she also communicated everything we needed in advance to be ready for a successful session and spent all of our time together in session efficiently to answer all questions, help us reach our goals, and teach us as much as possible (breastfeeding, pumping, and other ways to feed our baby). In addition to all of the in-person support we received, it was incredibly helpful to be able to reach out to her in the following days with lingering questions. Nina also made countless resources and referrals available to us via her website to ensure we had everything we needed to know in writing in one, accessible place. All in all, Nina provided us with an invaluable service at a time when we needed it most!
After a severe case of mastitis, my breastfeeding journey took a turn for the worse. I worked with several lactation consultants but Nina was the only one to get me to exclusively breastfeed, which was my ultimate goal. There was a point where I had given up, but thanks to Nina my son and I are currently going seven months strong breastfeeding! She takes a holistic approach to her care and that really makes a difference.
Working with Nina was one of the best decisions I made as a new mom. I was completely overwhelmed with the early struggles of my breastfeeding journey, and Nina provided concrete help and compassion in those incredibly difficult first few weeks. She helped me to improve my positioning to sustain a deeper latch and eliminate nipple pain, identified tongue, lip and buccal ties in my son's mouth and provided guidance for next steps to resolve them, helped manage oversupply issues that initially caused mastitis, and was also simply an educator and a non-judgmental sounding board when things were really hard. After just a few sessions with Nina, my nipple pain and damage went away, my son's latch significantly improved, and I felt confident moving forward. I would recommend working with Nina to anyone on their breastfeeding journey!
With Nina, I felt totally supported and safe in the knowledge that I was working with someone who is truly an expert in their field and invested in finding solutions for my particular situation. Nina offers such comprehensive support throughout the process. It was very comforting to work with her as she acknowledges the challenges but offers comprehensive support in finding solutions. She was invested in every element of mine and my baby's wellbeing and provided round the clock support when I had any queries or worries. She liaised with my OB, recommended a physician for my son's tongue tie and worked the craniosacral therapist my son was seeing to ensure they had a full picture of the support my son needed. I could never have expected to have received such thorough and thoughtful care and would recommend her to any new mother navigating the new frontier that is breastfeeding.
Nina's approach was amazing during the most stressful part of my postpartum experience. Nina was able to identify latch issues my son had and how they were affecting me and provided incredible resources to help us power through. She was extremely genuine and knowledgable in helping me understand the latching issues I had with my son. I continue to She made me feel comfortable, informed, and relieved. I continue to work with her through my breastfeeding journey, and I am so happy I found her!
I felt very supported when working with Nina. Nina is so knowledgeable and has a way of explaining concepts easily and clearly. Understanding how my body and brain work together really encouraged me to make changes in my life including eating better, having less cravings, moving more, having more regular bowel movements.
Nina is such a sweet person that I always feel like I’m taking to a friend when I'm talking to her. She is super thorough and pays attention to all details to not miss anything. Nina would come once a week or so to check up on our son’s development and give us advice about taking care of him. We believed that if we were raised with no interventions and we are fine, then our kids should be raised the same way. But, we learned that all babies are different and our son did need to have a tongue and lip tie revision done. Thanks to Nina’s compassionate care, we made the right decision which helped our breastfeeding journey to be more successful and pleasant!
Nina empowered me through an extremely vulnerable recovery from emotional trauma and bodily injury. She met me exactly where I was at: making it easy for me to schedule appointments, sharing our communications with a friend who could help me stay accountable to my healing, and showing compassion and understanding when I struggled with low cognitive functioning. I felt validated in the symptoms I was experiencing as she enriched my knowledge of self with scientific analysis. She crafted unique protocols for me to follow and updated them as I reported back my progress. I was so impressed with her commitment to making my protocols accessible for me to follow, and I am truly grateful for her personal deliveries of supplements, tools, and delicious homemade food. She helped me believe in my ability to heal and encouraged me not settle for a slough of side effects that accompanied my allopathic treatment.
Nina’s wisdom and knowledge helped me draw connections between interdependent systems in my body and therefore understand how I could best support my body in its difficult task of growing bone, forming scar tissue, and detoxifying from the effects of neurotoxic drugs and trauma. She gave me many options for tending to the barrage of symptoms and side effects, all the while addressing challenging disruptions to my former life. She never demanded that I adopt changes I wasn’t ready to make; instead she encouraged me to make gentle and gradual adjustments with an informed understanding of how those changes in habits, lifestyle, and diet might alleviate my symptoms. I feel humbled and blessed by the generosity of her care.
